Material selection is the most important factor in creating an outstanding product. We actively purchase wood that has not been used for furniture before, as well as bent logs and split timbers excluded from trading in the market. We visit wood markets all over Japan to select logs with our own eyes, and we seek to create new value in materials that have never been of interest before by taking ideas from traditional drying and processing methods and trying out techniques that have never been used. In Japan, blessed with a wide variety of tree species, we are working to create products that make the most of the uniqueness of each material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with Meet up Furniture Asahikawa 2023, we will hold an open factory at Time & Style Factory. We will guide you through our unique production process of furniture made of logs from all over Japan. It starts from the natural drying area for the logs and sawing and drying to processing them into furniture.
We will also have a presentation to report on the Milan Design Week held at Time & Style Milan this April.
We welcome everyone, including designers, architects, and those interested in furniture making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Meet up Furniture Asahikawa<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Asahikawa, Hokkaido, is one of Japan\u2019s five major furniture production centers, known for its \u201cmagnificent nature,\u201d \u201cartistry and technical expertise passed down through generations,\u201d and \u201cinternationally acclaimed design.\u201d The manufacturers of Asahikawa Furniture, who have been holding exhibitions as a production center for nearly 70 years, launched a new production center exhibition titled “Meet up Furniture Asahikawa” in 2022 in cooperation with Asahikawa Design Week in Asahikawa City, certified as the third UNESCO Design Cities in Japan in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
